John Katzenellenbogen, left, Benita Katzenellenbogen and their colleagues found that stimulating estrogen receptor beta in triple-negative breast cancers alters the activity of cancer-related genes and reduces the growth and metastasis of these breast cancers. The work was conducted in human TNBC cells and in mice with TNBC tumors expressing varying levels of ER beta.
