Distribution and chemical composition of fine particulate air pollution in North America

University of Pittsburgh scientists determined the chemical composition and concentration of air pollution particles less than 2.5 microns in size across North America and overlaid the pollution map with the locations of people with fibrotic interstitial lung disease to look for associations between air pollution composition and disease progression.
