Growth rate affects replisome speed (IMAGE)
Caption
When growth rate is fast, such as when bacteria are cultured at a high temperature, oscillations in replisome speed appear. This may be due to multiple copies of the genome being replications at the same time. At slow growth rates, when only one genome is copied at a time, the oscillations disappear.
