Peri-urban Hyderabad (IMAGE) Bangor University Caption This photo is taken in a peri-urban area near Hyderabad, India. In the foreground, you can see the infrastructure available to supply water. The area has not yet been connected to the piped water system, but these large water buts can be filled via rain water, or with water delivered to the area by trucks. In the middle ground, large bags of food can be seen, which can be transported into the area using vehicles, livestock and by hand. In the background, remaining greenspace is present – a stark contrast to the relatively dense housing in the middle ground.
