Gene Therapy Stopping Cellular Arrhythmia (IMAGE)
Caption
Cardiac arrhythmias occur when heart muscle cells do not uniformly transmit electrical signals to pump blood in a cohesive, orderly fashion. The left video shows arrhythmic cells in tachycardia chaos, whereas the right video shows cells treated with the new gene therapy behaving normally, as they are much more difficult to push out of their regular heart beat activity.
