In a paper published in the Science China Earth Sciences, a team of geoscientists discovered three Neoarchean gneissic granitic plutons in the Dabie Orogen, at the northeastern margin of the Yangtze Craton. These plutons document a widespread occurrence of an Archean basement in this region and highlight that the Yangtze Craton represents a collage of several microcontinents that evolved independently and likely collided at ~2.0 Ga to constitute a unified craton.
