New model predicts droplet splashing behavior on solid surfaces

In a new study, scientists from Japan and China have developed a new model for predicting the splashing criteria for liquid droplets on solid substrates. The model shows good agreement with experimental data and can additionally predict the spreading factor on rough solid surfaces.
