ルイス糖脂質を高発現するがん細胞では、TRAILによる細胞死が引き起こされやすくなる。がん細胞上のルイス糖脂質の発現量を調べることで、TRAIL受容体分子標的薬やがん免疫療法の治療効果を予測できるようになることが期待される。
