Estimated effects of marriage duration on the wealth holdings (total net worth) of women (IMAGE)
Caption
When personal wealth is used as the measure of wealth, marriage duration is found to have a negative effect on wealth; by contrast, when household wealth is used as the measure of wealth, marriage duration has hardly any effect on wealth. Only the effects shown in black (i.e., not those in gray) are statistically significant at least at the 10% level.
