The Japanese Nutrition Risk Index (NRI) is used to examine the relationship between sarcopenia and malnutrition in MHD patients (IMAGE)
Caption
Malnutrition was found to contribute to sarcopenia through diminishing the MHD patients’ muscle mass, strength, and physical performance. The NRI score and the NRI score-based medium/high-risk group were significantly associated with sarcopenia, suggesting this score as a useful tool for early detection of sarcopenia.
