Rice University graduate student Kevin Wyss holds a vial of graphene and samples of the graphene-reinforced polyurethane made by the Ford Motor Company. Ford collaborated with a Rice lab to recycle plastic from end-of-life vehicles into graphene through flash Joule heating, then used that graphene in new foam.
