The Japan Prize Foundation awarded Dr. Miharada, Dr. Uemoto (Kumamoto University), Dr. Yamada (Chiba University), and Dr. Kajitani (Uppsala Univerity) the 2022 Heisei Memorial Research Grant for their work in developing a safe and stable blood transfusion therapy without the need for blood donation.
