UC Davis veterinarians identified Lizard, the cat pictured above, as having hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, a heart disease that affects 1 in 7 cats. He was part of the study examining how a cat's DNA alters how it responds to a commonly prescribed medication to prevent blood clots in cats with HCM.
