Sliced View of the cGMP B-site of PKG-1α (IMAGE)
Caption
Pictured above is a crystal structure of a sliced view of the cGMP B-site of PKG-Iα at the site of S-tide interaction (green). The deep binding pocket is comprised of mostly hydrophobic amino acid residues. Hydrophilic amino acid residues are predominantly confined to the surface of the protein as depicted by their electrostatic representations (blue-positive, red-negative).
