Nanoparticle Illustration (IMAGE) Washington State University Caption This illustration shows how the researchers' nanoparticles (DOX-hyd-BSA NPs) selectively kill inflammatory neutrophils to prevent them from invading healthy tissue. The nanoparticles carry doxycycline (DOX) molecules that are held inside albumin (BSA) cells using an acid-sensitive (hyd) bond that releases once inside the neutrophil.
