Associate Professor Noah Finkelstein teaches a CU-Boulder physics class. Like most courses in physics at CU and elsewhere, the students are predominantly male, and researchers observe a "gender gap" in test scores that is not fully attributable to preparation and aptitude. The CU-Boulder team found that a simple writing exercise can significantly reduce the gender gap.
