Normal Cortical Development Vs. Irregular Cortical Development (IMAGE)
Caption
Normal cortical development with PRC2 (upper image) vs. irregular cortical development without PRC2 (lower image). Different colors stand for different maturation stages of cortical stem cells and different types of neurons generated at different points in time, respectively. Without PRC2, stem cells mature too fast and thus produce too little numbers of neurons, resulting in microcephaly.
