Central Baja California Horned Lizard (IMAGE) University of California - Berkeley Caption The coast horned lizard ranges from the southern tip of Baja California to California's north coast, though it is threatened by habitat loss throughout its range. A new integrative analysis splits these animals into three separate species, including this one, Phrynosoma cerroense, restricted to central Baja California. The photo was taken on the Vizcaíno Peninsula of Baja California, México. This individual is about eight inches long.
