Euphorbiotheca deccanensis fruit capsul (IMAGE)
Caption
The fruit of Euphorbiotheca deccanensis was likely fossilized just before the asteroid impact that decimated the dinosaurs 66 million years ago. The fossil is part of the Deccan Traps, expansive layers of solidified magma in central and western India that were deposited in one of the largest series of volcanic eruptions in Earth's history.
