Seismicity Activated by Injections near Pohang (IMAGE)

Geothermal energy developers drilled two wells in Pohang, South Korea, and one of them intersected with a previously undetected fault. Fluid injected into the well known as PX-2 activated seismicity and led to a damaging earthquake on November 15, 2017.
