The U.S. Department of Energy Report 'From Biomass to Biofuels: A Roadmap to the Energy Future' (depicted above and issued in July 2006) includes input from Somerville and other leading scientists who participated in the 'Biomass to Biofuels Workshop' December 7-9, 2005. The report offers a comprehensive roadmap for research needed to convert plant cellulose (biomass) to biofuels such as ethanol at market-competitive costs.
