A group of scientists headed by Professor Andreas Bausch, Chair of Cellular Biophysics at Technical University of Munich, has developed a synthetic cell model. Only a few components are decisive for the interplay between cytoskeleton and cell membrane, key to all changes in form. The simple model allows to understand and explain these important functional relationships.
