Professor Hong Chen at Washington University in St. Louis reached across disciplines, and within her own department, to work toward a more focused drug delivery system that could target tumors lodged in the brainstem, the body's most precious system. The new system may lead to novel treatments for diffuse intrinsic pontine gliomas (DIPG), a devastating, childhood brain cancer.
