Lemur DNA Paints a Picture of Madagascar's Forested Past (IMAGE)
Caption
The teacup-sized mouse lemurs are the world's smallest and fastest-reproducing primates. As a result, their collective DNA reflects changes in their surroundings at a faster rate than many other mammals. A new study uses mouse lemur genomes to reconstruct Madagascar's forests before human arrival.
