Caption Snorkeling through two worlds right next to each other: Coral life is vibrant inside "marine protected areas" (MPA) at a reef off of the Fiji Islands and nearly decimated in overfished areas, where seaweed has overgrown corals. Fisheries regulations protect corals and may offer some insurance against ocean warming events, but even protected reefs die back dramatically if warming is too much, too long.
