Mantle CO2 outgassing in response to cratonic destruction

CO2 was released from the cratonic lithospheric mantle by three ways: 1) magmatic degassing of eruptive magmas, 2) heating of sedimentary carbonates stored in the crust, and 3) the interaction between carbonated melts and the lithospheric mantle.
