For the 10 states that stand to avoid the most damages by switching schools to on-site solar power, blue bars show avoided damages from CO2, SO2, NOX and direct PM2.5 emissions. Red and orange bars show the rebates and cross-subsidy paid by the public when excess generation is valued at the retail rate. All values are reported in millions of dollars.
