Ancient Events and Mammal Biodiversity (IMAGE) Rice University Caption Researchers have discovered that events from 20,000 years ago or more are still impacting the diversity and distribution of mammal species worldwide. It took almost five years to create and analyze the study's data, which includes information about the diets, body sizes and variety of species in 515 mammal communities from Africa, Asia, Madagascar and the Americas.
