David Lary's GASP project, based at the University of Texas at Dallas, will deploy white-domed nodes, like the one shown here, on lampposts in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Inside each node is a set of computing hardware and environmental sensors comprising the Waggle smart sensor platform, developed by scientists at Argonne National Laboratory. Similar units are being deployed by the University of Chicago and Argonne National Laboratory scientists on the streets of Chicago as part of a project called the Array of Things.
