Fisk undergraduate students (L-R) Skye Faucher, Jaia Holleman, and Leiana-Lavette Woodard participated in summer training workshops at University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, as part of the National Institutes of Health's Big Data to Knowledge (BD2K) program. A newly funded graduate-level master's-to-PhD Fisk-UIUC bridge program will provide further opportunities for Fisk students to get requisite training for graduate level work, streamlining a path to a research career in computational biology.
