The first map shows the maximum daily heat index, in degrees Fahrenheit, that is the threshold for the top 5% of the hottest days in May through September. Other maps show the same value projected for 2 degrees Celsius warming, in 2050, and for 4 degrees Celsius warming, in 2100. The colors reflect federal health and safety recommendations for outdoor workers.
