Transplanted Neural Progenitor Cells (IMAGE) Cedars-Sinai Medical Center Caption This image shows transplanted neural progenitor cells (green), the protein GDNF (red) and motor neurons (blue) together in brain tissue. A new study showed that by releasing GDNF into the brain, the transplanted cells helped support motor neurons, delaying the onset of disease and extending survival in animal models of ALS. The image was produced using a confocal microscope; colors were generated by staining with fluorescent antibodies.
