Metformin joins the fight against cancer.

Scientists report that metformin, used to treat type 2 diabetes mellitus, induces activation and proliferation of tumor-targeting CD8+ T-lymphocytes (CD8TIL), via mechanisms that involve the generation of reactive oxygen species in mitochondria of CD8TIL and an increase in glycolysis.
