Fluctuating Charge Stripes (IMAGE)
Caption
Doped charges in the CuO2 planes of cuprate superconductors form regular one-dimensional 'stripes' at low temperatures. Excitation with ultrafast near-infrared pulses allows direct observation of diffusive charge dynamics, which may be involved in the establishing in-plane superconductivity.
