Ganglion Cell Layer of the Retina (IMAGE)

The ganglion cell layer of the retina is labelled with red to show the presence of a cell sensitive to motion in the upward direction. In low light, these cells become generalists to help the retina pick up the faintest signals of any kind of motion.
