Insects are notoriously difficult to track due to their minute size, short life-spans and their tendency to be eaten by other organisms. A new simple and inexpensive device developed by a graduate student has the potential to inform scientists of when most insects are active and how environmental disturbance from light pollution, climate change and increasing urbanization affect their behavior.
