Maternal Mortality in Argentina assessed by ITS (IMAGE)
Caption
Using a statistical technique called interrupted time series (ITS), the researchers identified a sustained decline in the maternal mortality ratio (MMR) from 1980 to 2009 (blue dots), the year of the H1N1 pandemic. During this event, the MMR increased exponentially (red point) and then resumed an even more accelerated downward trend from 2010 (celestial points).
