York University researchers solve the mystery of the origin of the western honey bee (VIDEO)

After analyzing 251 genomes from 18 native subspecies from Europe, Africa and Asia, the researchers say the probability of the bees originating within western Asia is 64 to 71 per cent. That compares to only a six per cent chance it originated from Africa and a three to six per cent chance it initially came from Europe.
