After reviewing 40 years of scientific studies looking at the impact of police contact with Black youth in numerous environments, Johns Hopkins Medicine researchers concluded that such exposure may be detrimental to the health and well-being of this group, including negative outcomes such as sadness, hopelessness, anger, fear for safety and stress.
