The endangered Tidestrom’s lupine (Lupinus tidestromii) lives life on the lowdown producing stalks of fruits, like those in the foreground that lie on the sand. A mouse looking for a meal just snips off the stalk at its base and drags the entire cluster of fruits to its nest.
