With testing capacity in short supply as COVID-19 spread across the globe, Virginia Tech scientists developed their own test for SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes the disease, and opened the Molecular Diagnostic Lab at the Fralin Biomedical Research Institute at VTC to address testing needs in rural Southwest Virginia.
