Big Steps for Mini-Genes in Muscular Dystrophy (1 of 6) (IMAGE)
Caption
Immunolabelling of Minidysferlin in dysferlin deficient mice muscles injected with AAV-Minidysf. Minidysferlin is both localized in T-tubules and at the plasma membrane after gene transfer in dysferlin deficient mice muscles as compared to controls. This image relates to an article that appeared in the Sept. 22, 2010, issue of Science Translational Medicine, published by AAAS. The study, by Dr. Martin Krahn of INSERM in Marseille, France, and colleagues, is titled, "A Naturally Occurring Human Minidysferlin Protein Repairs Sarcolemmal Lesions in a Mouse Model of Dysferlinopathy."
