The image shows a reconstruction of Proganochelys (the oldest turtle with a complete shell) as it would have appeared in life. This reconstruction is based on a digital model of the fossil skull, which was scanned using computed tomography and is shown in the middle. Shown in the front is the digitally reconstructed brain of Proganochelys analyzed in the current study.
