New "beach" along the banks of the Madeira River upstream of the Jirau Dam, May 2014. Displaced fishermen were relocated to this site after dam construction, but most of abandoned fishing in this new habitat. This material relates to a paper that appeared in the 01 November 2017, issue of Science Advances, published by AAAS. The paper, by K. Timpe at University of Florida in Gainesville, FL, and colleagues was titled, "The changing hydrology of a dammed Amazon."
