Formation of small vesicles indicate that Candidatus Argoarchaeum ethanivorans divide by budding. The researchers detected these structures with a high-resolution Helium Ion Microscope. The Archaeal cells are extremely small- - on average, they are 100-fold thinner than a human hair.
