To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video Caption The GPM core observatory satellite flew over Maria on Sept. 25, 2017, at 9:28 p.m. EDT (Sept. 26, 2017, at 0128 UTC) and saw the western side of the hurricane was drier and contained much less precipitation than the eastern side. DPR found a few convective storms within Maria dropping rain at a rate of less than 2 inches (51 mm) per hour.
