In a new microbiome study from the WVU School of Medicine, researchers found that having a stroke triggered intestinal abnormalities in animal models. At a microscopic level, intestinal tissue appeared disorganized in models that experienced a stroke (right) but maintained an orderly appearance in healthy models (left).
