microRNA Therapy Protects Against Neurodegenerative Disorder (4 of 6) (IMAGE)
Caption
The "Merged.tif" file shows the merged image of "Calbindin.tif" with "GFP.tif". Highly efficient GFP expression is observed in greater part of Purkinje cells in AAV9-GFP-injected mouse cerebellum. We can tell our AAV9-mediated gene delivery system is effective for gene expression to prepare disease models and therapeutic approaches. This material relates to a paper that appeared in the July 13 issue of Science Translational Medicine, published by AAAS. The paper, by Yu Miyazaki at University of Chicago in Chicago, IL, and colleagues was titled, "An miRNA-mediated therapy for SCA6 blocks IRES-driven translation of the CACNA1A second cistron."
