The presence of PFAS in firefighting chemicals means they often are found on military bases and in adjacent groundwater. Military firefighters, such as these at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base, undergo aircraft rescue firefighting training to hone their skills in preparation for the possibility of an aircraft fire.
