Carnegie Airborne Observatory-3 onboard laboratory includes navigation and data collection consoles, power and computing racks, and data capture facilities. The CAO AToMS sensor package can be seen in the back of the aircraft. This material relates to a paper that appeared in the Jan. 27, 2017, issue of Science, published by AAAS. The paper, by G.P. Asner at Carnegie Institution for Science in Stanford, CA, and colleagues was titled, 'Airborne laser-guided imaging spectroscopy to map forest trait diversity and guide conservation.'
